"Slava Ukraini" was the grand prize winner for the Fall semester's "Gallery@104 Borland" exhibition, here is the accompanying statement I left with it:

"As I witness the tragedy that is occurring in Ukraine as Russia attempts to invade the country and take it over as its own, I recall my family's lineage. My father's side of the family is from the Republic of Ukraine and in an effort to show that, within this artwork I depicted a scene of refugees seeking haven in a derelict church. Using the contrast between a place of holy worship and imagery of war and bitter survival, I attempted to represent the civilian lens of this ongoing conflict."
